Another Saturday Night at The Auction

You never know what you'll find at T. Sterling Auctions LLC (formerly known as Kemler's Auction), and last Saturday night was no different. From an artist's perspective, I enjoy taking in all of the different shapes and colors. Look at that blue and gray color scheme.

 This animal reminds me of Dr. Dillamond from the play Wicked.

The illustrators back in the day were so talented. Everything seemed to have class in those days, and everyone took pride in the way they dressed. Today, we have baggy, slouchy, sloppy, unkempt disasters walking around with their underwear hanging out. I don't get it.  

Remember when roller skating was, in deed, competition for other businesses? They recently tore down the Roller King skating rink in Kingston, and replaced it with a health spa. It's the sign of the times.Today, I don't think kids even know what roller skating is. They should, however, put down the cookies and check out that new health spa in town.

When I was a kid, we were rollerskating in the basement so much that it started to "kick up" the concrete. Dust was everywhere. That's when Dad relegated us to the sidewalks outside, and then Skateaway was built, and I was hooked.

Opening Night at The Auction

This is the perfect picture to depict the opening night of T. Sterling Auctions LLC (formerly known as Kemler's Auction).

If you're looking to pick up some interesting items, be sure to stop by T. Sterling Auctions LLC in Berwick, PA. The building is large, there's plenty of seating, and the lighting is nice and bright.

I think these two Santas are meant to be cute, but they're borderline insane. I used to have a Santa just like these two crazy Santas when I was a kid. His eyes used to creep me out.

If I had a cabin in the woods, these two babies would have been mine. The next time my dad gets a deer, I'll ask him to make me a coat rack. Too late for this year; that deer is already in my freezer, and I know the feet aren't there.

I honestly didn't know that Gibbons was still brewed. Shame on me. It's brewed at the Lion Brewery in Wilkes-Barre, PA. What would I know? I don't drink.

66th Annual Berwick Lights

It's that time of year when everyone takes in the Berwick Lights along Market Street in Berwick, Pennsylvania. The charming display of Christmas decorations is sure to delight both young and old alike.

As you drive down Market Street, you'll see many scenes that celebrate the Christmas season.

Restoring The Grotto

Today was the re-dedication of the grotto at Saint Leo's Church, and it was a time to give thanks to everyone who had a hand in restoring the grotto.

 

This easel shows a few pictures of the work that was involved in bringing the grotto back to life.

I'm so glad I talked one of the parents into keeping Mary's original crown. Prior to restoring the crown of stars, it was a brass-colored metal, and the light bulbs were blue. A fresh coat of paint and new light bulbs brought the crown back to life.

 There are now curtains in the entrance way. They also put a new floor in the grotto.

 

The fountain is now running again, and they purchased "flameless" candles for the grotto.
