So many of my students have been asking me to create a workshop that focuses on freeform stitching. I'd especially like to thank Sharon B. for her persistence. This workshop will be held at The Stegmaier Mansion on June 1.

I'm thrilled to be working with Stab and Stash on making my designs available as cross stitch patterns. They currently have a few kits available for sale, but check back often since I'll be adding more designs.

I was tinkering around with these two designs in Renee Emanuel's workshop at The Wyoming Valley Art League two weeks ago, and I just finished them today. The Strathmore 4-ply Bristol board (plate surface) is a wonderful surface to work on. It's a smooth surface, which allows you to go back into your design and play around with the watercolor layers. If you enjoy working on hot-press paper, you'll love this surface.
I had summer napkins in mind when designing these two pieces.
Renee's a wonderful teacher. For more information, visit her Web site at www.etstudioart.com.
